Anubis Finally Uses His Vortex
Whoever fought him up close never saw a single vortex. That was a bug — and he came back stronger.
The vortex was only chosen when the player stood three squares away or more. The Knight — the class built to stand next to the boss — killed Anubis without ever seeing the ground turn under his feet. The ability now comes out on its own cooldown, near or far, and only your own square is spared: everything else is fair ground.
The vortices also fall closer together. They used to scatter across a board of 289 squares, which left room to stand still and keep swinging; the spread was tightened so the five of them cover about a third of the area. You have to move, and there is still somewhere to move to.
And he hits harder everywhere: 2,400 health instead of 1,200, his claw from 26 to 40, his sword blow from 120 to 180, and each vortex tick from 45 to 70. He now has more health than any creature in his own desert — which is what a god at the bottom of a tomb should have.
